BYLINE: The line that tells who wrote the story 6. PHOTO: a photograph or picture taken with a camera 7. CAPTION: information below a photo 8. LEAD: The first paragraph of a news story (tells who, what, where, when & why) 9. BODY: The rest of the news story with more details about what happened 10. ARTICLE: A true story or facts in the newspaper 11. QUOTATIONS: The exact words that someone said 12. JOURNALIST: A person who writes articles for the newspaper 13. COLUMN: A weekly article that is written by the same journalist / reporter every week, and is located in the same part of the newspaper every week. The column is topic specific and the journalist is expressing his/her opinion 14. CLASSIFIEDS: The section of the newspaper that advertises jobs, deaths, births, marriages, items for sale, property for rent or sale 15. EDITORIAL: An article written by a higher level journalist who expresses her/her opinion on a current event usually related to politics 16. EDITORIAL CARTOON: A one frame cartoon that is in the editorial section of the newspaper and relates to a political current event. It is both serious and humorous.
