Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Position Closes: Until position is filled Positions Primary Function: The Tower Superintendent is responsible for providing on site management of construction personnel in the performance of conducting maintenance and repairs to communication towers located around the world. Additionally, the Tower Superintendent may be assigned as the Site Safety and Health Officer, responsible for managing, implementing and enforcing the Contractor’s Safety and Health Programs in accordance with the approved safety plan and applicable regulations for communication towers and antennas. The Tower Superintendent must have performed inspections and repairs on a minimum of two telecommunications towers over 600 feet tall in the last five years. Must have demonstrated experience with tall communication towers, antennas, and similar structures. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Provide on-site management of construction personnel. 2. As the on-site representative for the company, liaison directly with the Project Manager for daily and weekly status reporting as required. 3. Interface directly with subcontractors and on site government personnel overseeing the work. 4. While assigned as the Site Safety and Health Officer, conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections and complete monthly safety checklist. 5. Lead the effort to conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports. Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and sub-contractors. 6. Maintain applicable work, safety and quality reference material and daily logs on the job site. 7. Lead the pre-construction conference and pre-work meetings including preparatory inspection meeting, and periodic in-progress meeting as required. 8. While assigned as the Site Safety and Health Officer implement and enforce accepted Accident Prevention Plan (APPS) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA). 9. Maintain site folder to include but not limited to : 1. Approved Safety Plan 2. Applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) -01 35 26 3. Activity Hazard Analysis 4. Safety Meetings attendance records 5. Safety Data Sheets 6. Fall Protection and Prevention Plan 7. Critical Lifting Plan 8. Inspection Report 9. Certificates, Licenses and Qualifications for workers 10. Quality Control Reports 11. Contractor Safety Self Evaluation Reports Job Requirements: Demonstrated experiencing managing personnel and working with Project Managers, Inspectors and personnel visiting the work site. Experience within the past five years performing inspections and repairs on a minimum of two telecommunications towers over 600 feet tall. Demonstrate experience with tall communication towers, antennas, and similar structures. Five years of experience with construction industry safety or three years of experience with a Certified Safety Professional or a Safety and Health degree.
