Job description 1) Research and education in the field of bacterial infections, immunity and vaccine development. 2) Education of graduate students under the Leading Graduate School Program, at Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine 3) Duties for preparatory procedures for Joint degree, including lecturing with partner universities 4) Participation in training courses as a tutor. Research Center for Zoonosis Control is carrying out coherent scientific and educational activities for the control of zoonoses. Our mission includes international contributions as WHO Collaborating Centre for Zoonoses Control. Our center also takes part in education and research of graduate students at Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine. We are now preparing to establish "Graduate School of Infectious Diseases". As one of new education schemes, a "Joint Degree" program with a foreign university (universities) will be introduced. The incumbent will be responsible for the research activities in the Division of Infection and Immunity, Research Center for Zoonosis Control, Hokkaido University. Duties also include support for the establishment of a joint degree system, Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine lecture(s) at Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine. 5. 6. Qualification 1) Applicant should have knowledge and research experience on microbial infections and immunity, or vaccine development or both, particularly in the area of bacteriology. 2) Applicant should have knowledge and research experience on vaccine development. 3) Applicant should be capacity to supervise graduate students and international trainees, and highly motivated in zoonosis control. 4) Applicant should have Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
