The 10 th International Verticillium Symposium
This Symposium will bring together persons interested in basic and applied plant pathology, mycology, agriculture, and all other aspects of the Verticillium species. Researchers, students, extension personnel, industry members, and others are welcome and encouraged to attend. The meeting is being organized by the International Scientific
Committee for the 10 th International Verticillium Symposium, and the host organization is Obihiro University of
Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine.
Scientific Program
The workshop will consist of oral and poster presentations as well as technical discussion sessions covering all aspects of Verticillium , including the biology, ecology, epidemiology, taxonomy and genetics, molecular biology, genomics, disease modeling and forecasting, pathology, physiology, biochemistry, disease management, fungicides, biological control, worldwide impact and importance. The official language for the workshop will be
English. The workshop will be held in the Campus of Obihiro University.
The workshop will include a planned field tour to see Verticillium black spot of Japanese radish, and an evening dinner session at the famous Hot Springs “Tokachigawa Onsen” or around area.

Accommodations and Location
Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine is a university located in Obihro, Hokkaido, Japan.
Commonly referred to as the Obihiro University, it is the only national university of agriculture and veterinary medicine in Japan. It was founded in 1941 as the Obihiro Technical School of Veterinary Medicine.
Hokkaido is the northernmost island which is one of the four islands making up the nation of Japan. At the southeast corner of Hokkaido, one will find Obihiro City (pop. 180,000) centrally located within the 10,000 square kilometer Tokachi Plain. Obihiro City is located at 43。North latitude, the same as Rome, Chicago, and Boston, and resembles a four seasons climate. Hokkaido's vast countryside consists of plenty of agricultural land that provides the island with a good balance of both metropolitan and countryside living. People's dispositions are said to be characterized by their pioneer spirit.

$350~400 (including lunch, dinner, excursion tour, welcome and farewell party).
