Columbus Junction Curbside Recycling Guide Columbus Junction has single stream curbside recycling for homeowners. Recycling bins are distributed at City Hall. Pick up is on Wednesdays. Commercial accounts need to make arrangements directly with Hewitt Sanitation or City Carton. Below is a guide of what to include and not include in your bin. Paper & Fiber Include: Newspapers Magazines and catalogs Mixed paper (computer paper, envelopes, envelopes with windows, file folders, greeting cards) Chipboard (cereal boxes, cardboard egg cartons, paper towel tubes, etc.) Cardboard (can be placed under your recycle bin at the curb, boxes with staples are okay) DO NOT include Books Styrofoam Photographs Plastics Include All plastics with number 1-7 DO NOT include Styrofoam Grocery bags (Can be taken to Economart) Bubble wrap Motor oil containers Metal Include Aluminum Food and beverage cans with labels removed (include the labels as well) DO NOT INCLUDE Batteries (Take to Napa Auto Parts) E-Waste (Take to the Louisa Transfer Station in Wapello, there is a fee based on item size) Glass DO NOT INCLUDE No glass of any kind is to be included in the curbside recycling (closest location is City Carton)
