The Executive Intern Program at Elon University Application Overview: The Executive Intern Program provides several juniors and seniors opportunities to: 1. Work with mentors from the University Senior Staff 2. Develop leadership skills 3. Learn about higher education administration and senior organizational management 4. Work on projects with senior staff members. The Executive Internship program is administered through the Office of the President. Potential assignments are w: Admissions and Financial Planning Athletics Business, Technology and Finance Office of the President Provost and Academic Affairs Student Life University Advancement University Communications Time Commitment: Students attend orientation and introductory sessions most Fridays during the fall semester, shadow their mentors and complete projects in Winter Term, conclude the program in the spring through reflection and capstone experiences, and disseminate the findings of their projects to appropriate university personnel or bodies. Interns should plan on these events requiring a couple hours each week during the fall semester. Interns must be on campus during Winter Term, which is a full-time 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday commitment. During Winter Term interns work on projects, attend meetings, and work with senior staff members’ and other staff. During spring term, interns attend campus events, continue meeting with senior staff members, help interview intern candidates, and complete their projects. Requirements: Applicants must be rising juniors or seniors in good academic and judicial standing, be available to work full-time on campus during Winter Term, and demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality. Students who wish to apply for the Executive Intern Program should complete the general background information section (below), list 3 professional references (including one faculty member), answer 2 short-answer questions, attach a resume, and attach a one-page cover letter explaining their interest in the program. Applications are due Friday, March 20 by 5pm. Interviews will follow Spring Break, and decisions will be released mid April.
