LHS 中文一 Project 4: 中国的节日 四月七日 – 五月二十七日 1 Goals: 1) To gain a deeper understanding of the course’s Essential Understanding: Everyone is a unique individual with a set of traditions, personal interests and hopes, with support from family and friends; 2) To be able to describe and talk about one of the traditional Chinese festivals; 3) To combine writing and speaking for a presentation in the target language. Description and requirement for the project: 1) Content: This project is for students to obtain information through independent research; You will create a multimedia product to teach about one Chinese festival; Choose one of these important Chinese festivals: Chinese New Year or Chun Jie; Qingming Festival; Duanwu or Dragon Boat Festival; Hungry Ghosts Festival or Zhongyuan Jie; Mid-Autumn Festival or Zhongqiu Jie; Double Nine or Chongyang Festival. You will include: 1. An introductory paragraph about the festival in Chinese 2. Origin(s) of the festival 3. Present day celebration and practice for this festival 4. Food and clothing with specific significance for this celebration 5. #2-4 must be accompanied with visuals.
