7th Grade Summer Reading Assignment
Faith Christian Academy 2013-2014
Each student will read ONE of the following novels from the list below. You must choose a novel that
you have not read before the summer of 2013. If the book has been released as a movie and you have
seen it, you may not choose that novel. Copies of these books may be found at home, the public library,
used book stores, or other venues. In addition to reading a novel, you must complete the questions
listed below. The novel must be read and the written assignment completed by Tuesday, August 13,
2013.
Students in the Honors Program must read TWO of the novels and complete questions for both!
Classics (must be the original version)

This assignment must be typed. All answers must be in complete sentences. This assignment is due on
Tuesday, August 13, 2013 and will count as a quiz grade.
1. What is the title of the book you read, and who is the author?
2. (a) Who is your favorite character? (b) Explain 5 traits that describe your favorite character. (c) Which
trait(s) do you admire or like the most? Why? (d) Which trait(s) do you not like? Why?
3. (a) Describe the most important event that happened. (b) Explain why you think it is the most
important event. (c) How did this event affect/impact the characters and their actions?
4. Give a brief summary of the end of the book.
5. Imagine that you are tweeting a friend about this book. Write a 140 character summary of the book
with the most important points.
