Theorist Project
Each group will be assigned a theorist that they will research and then present to the class. You will be the expert on the
topic, so be ready to answer questions the class might have during your presentation. Each group member will contribute to
the oral presentation. As a group you will create four test questions that will be answered orally throughout the presentation.
Presentation Requirements:
o
Each member of the group will have an oral part in the presentation (4-5 members).
o
Your group will create a Power Point Presentation with information to answer the questions below. The product
should have information and graphics related to your theory.
o
4 test questions must be in your Power Point presentation. Test questions must be emailed in the body of an
email to Ms. Smersh: Smershk@issaquah.wednet.edu The questions can be multiple choices or fill in the blank.
o
The presentation needs to be 5-8 minutes in length. Make sure that you plan and practice before your day.
o
Resources: You must use at least three different sources (books, journals, magazines, and internet). Include your
resources in MLA format at the end of your presentation.
Presentation Must Include the Following:
1) Define the developmental theory your theorist is known for and explain how your theory is used to understand
human behavior.
2) Discuss the major people involved in developing your theory based on the research that you have discovered.
(background information about your theorist)
3) Discuss the origin of your theory, in other words, what was going on in the world at that time? Talk about the
historical, cultural and social context involved at that time period.
4) Describe whether your theory is a stage based theory or a continuing development. Explain why this is true and
evident in your theory.
5) Evaluate the contributions your theory has made to our society and how it impacts us as individuals today.
