Network Advisory Group, Alumni Member At Large Application, 2014 The Buell Early Childhood Leadership Network (BECLN) is a coordinated network of early childhood leaders serving as agents for change in our programs, communities, and state. We align and leverage our collective voices and actions to create equity, opportunity and educational excellence for all young children and families. The purpose of the Network Advisory Group will be to: 1. Exchange updates on the network’s progress on the grant goals. Our overarching strategies for action for the 2014-2015 year are as follows (see full Network Grant Proposal for details): 1. Promote frequent network interactions to provide individuals access to diverse expertise, peer mentorship/encouragement, and unique leverage/access points to information. 2. Disseminate information on emerging trends and/or opportunities for impact ECE leaders should be anticipating and addressing individually or collaboratively in their communities. 3. Catalyze impact by engaging alumni around specific ECE issues ripe for grassroots leadership and action. 2. Identify possible linkages and leadership opportunities for alumni across: (1) network activities, (2) partner organizations, and (3) the communities Buell Fellows serve. 3. Advise on how the Buell Fellow Alumni Network should demonstrate the five conditions of collective impact (see www.fsg.org for details): a. Common Agenda/Shared vision for change b. Shared Measurement c. Mutually Reinforcing Activities d. Continuous Communication e. Backbone Support (Network Infrastructure) 4. Provide feedback on the impact of the Buell Leaders Network as a whole, specifically how activities are delivering results for Alumni and for the communities they serve. Membership on the Network Advisory Group includes: 1. Each of the three Network Stewards for the 2014-2015 grant year (Network Development Steward, Professional Development Steward, and Mentoring Steward) 2. Representatives from the Buell Foundation (Susan Steele & Erin Binford) 3. Representatives from Clayton Early Learning (Charlotte Brantley, Lynn Andrews, & Joanne Dalton) 4. Representatives from the University of Colorado Denver (Lori Ryan & TBD) 5. 3 Alumni Members at Large The Network Advisory Group will be convened by the Network Coordinator, Wendy Allen, four times across the year (one meeting each quarter). Calendar of meetings will be coordinated once all members are identified. Network Advisory Group, Alumni Member At Large Application, 2014 To become a member of the Network Advisory Group as an Alumni Member at Large, you must be: 1. an alumnus of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program 2. able to attend four meetings between August 2014-June 2015 in Denver, in person attendance preferred for the three hour quarterly meetings. 3. have interest and enthusiasm for strengthening the alumni network and desire to leverage the Buell voice for positive change in Colorado! Describe at least one opportunity you see for the Buell Fellow Alumni Network to collectively promote equity, opportunity and educational excellence for all young children and families? 2. After reviewing the purpose of the Network Advisory Group, what unique perspective would you anticipate contributing to the discussion this year? A small stipend and reimbursement for mileage to meet in person will be provided.
