Select Reproductive Technical Service Internship
The Select Sires Reproductive Technical Service Internship is based at the Select Sires
Headquarters in Plain City, OH. The purpose of this internship is to provide students with
experience in dairy herd data base management, reproductive benchmarking of dairy herds,
and CowManager daily interface with on-farm systems tech support. This position is open to all
undergraduate students studying animal or dairy science, preferably sophomore or junior year.
Hours are flexible and approximately 15 hours per week depending on the academic semester
and the intern’s availability.
Description of duties:








Review new herd requests and enter herds into reproductive records database (RePRO
ReVIEW)
Monitor all herds participating in RePRO ReVIEW for:
o Automated data uploading
o Automated report generation
o Automatic emailing of reports to Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) specialists
Maintain RePRO ReVIEW herd applications and agreement forms
Setup herd folders in a cloud-based system for records acquisition
Maintain a list of requests for additional metrics for RePRO ReVIEW
Answer calls and troubleshoot any problems with RePRO ReVIEW
Review daily reports our cow activity monitoring system (CowManager) and assist SRS
specialists and system owners with pre-installation of software, troubleshooting.
Work with the SRS Team on other designated projects
Time: Internship will be offered during the spring, summer, and fall semesters of 2016
Compensation: Hourly, but no housing will be provided.
