How to join the BDC Virtual Reps hangout
(1) All you need to join in is a computer or phone with internet and a Google mail
account (if you don’t have a Google mail account please read Section 4 on the
next page called ‘Setting up a gmail account’).

(2) Our hangout is called BDC Virtual Reps. Send an email to
amy.decampos@g.barkingdagenhamcollege.ac.uk and we will invite you to join
the hangout.
(3) In Google mail, go to your hangouts.
In Google mail, you need to click on your user menu to access your hangouts and chats
… then select the ‘Hangouts’ button at the bottom of the
menu on the left hand side
(3) The first time you use the Hangout, you will be asked to install a
plugin. This only takes a few seconds.
â–ºAccept our invitation and you’re in! You can use a webcam and
microphone, or just type in your comments and questions.

(4) Setting up a gmail account…
Go to the College website at www.barkingdagenhamcollege.ac.uk and click on ‘e-campus’
Now click on ‘eMail’:
Your login is your College student ID number, and your password is the first 6 letters of your surname in
capital letters. (If your surname is less than 6 letters long, make it up to 6 letters with X, e.g. KHANXX). If
you are using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or Chrome), you will need to put center\ in front of your login.
Example:
You will automatically be set up with a college gmail account. The first time you click on the +You menu,
Google will ask you to set up your profile. After doing this, you can find the hangout.
