Basic System and A/V requirements for successful webinars, chats, online collaboration * High-speed internet connection * Webcam * Headset with microphone (NB – this will help to eliminate reverb noise!) 2. Set up of Gmail (if using Google Hangout) a. You must have a gmail account. b. Send your new Gmail address to your professor (or course TA), so that you can be added to the Course Google Hangout. c. Ensure you remember your Gmail user name and password for logging into Google+ 3. Read help documents to familiarize yourself with various activities associated with GH, like: a. Creating and activating your Gmail account b. Creating Circles c. How to set up a GH Event d. Notes for Initiator and participants in a Google Hangout e. How to set up Google Drive- how to share docs- how to collaborate on a Google doc f. Tools for Chat- Screen Share-Sharing PPT-switching screens 4. Do practice sessions with colleagues and get comfortable, before inviting participants for a formal session.
