Personal Summary: Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad is a career civil servant. He belongs to Bangladesh civil service
(administration) cadre. He comes of a noble Muslim family. He was born in 1957 on 7th January at Jamalpur. His
father was Late Md. Zahurul Hoque and mother is Begum Akhtarun Nessa. His father was also a civil servant. Mr.
Md. Abul Kalam Azad is the 2nd amongst ten brothers and sisters. His spouse name is Mrs. Dilsad Yasmin. He is
father of two children. They are Mr. Noor Ehteshamul Azad, and daughter Raisa Azad. He is reliable, highly
resourceful, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic individual who possesses a considerable amount of knowledge
regarding administrative and office procedures. He is quick learner who can absorb new ideas and is experienced in
coordinating, planning and organizing a wide range of administrative activities.
Education: Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad completed his schooling at Jamalpur Zila High School and intermediate level
from Ashek Mahmud College at Jamalpur. Thereafter he got admitted at the University of Dhaka in the
department of Law. He obtained L.L.B degree in 1981.
Professional Experience: Mr. Azad joined civil service on 27 Oct. in 1982 as Assistant commissioner. In his long
service career he shouldered many important responsibilities in the field of administrations and central tire of
