He comes of a noble Muslim family. He was born in 1957 on 7th January at Jamalpur. His father was Late Md. Zahurul Hoque and mother is Begum Akhtarun Nessa. His father was also a civil servant. Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad is the 2nd amongst ten brothers and sisters. His spouse name is Mrs. Dilsad Yasmin. He is father of two children. They are Mr. Noor Ehteshamul Azad, and daughter Raisa Azad. He is reliable, highly resourceful, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic individual who possesses a considerable amount of knowledge regarding administrative and office procedures.
