PERL Programmer

Task Description:
PERL Programmer. Analyze supplied data, identify pertinent pieces based on customer guidance then develop
tools to perform automated data identification and extraction. Identify new analytic techniques for technology
discovery in provided datasets. Develop tools and capabilities highlighting the presence and use of the
discovered technologies. Research new methods of data exploitation through the use of commercial tools, or
other GaTS products and integrate them into the existing processing system architecture. Perform research on
defined technologies and/or target-specific topics. Respond to customer requests for information (RFI).
Prioritize tasks to optimize operations orchestration. Mentor other analysts on tools and techniques as
required.
Experience/Skills (in addition to Labor Category minimum requirements):
• 5-8 years of credible experience as a software developer (minimum of 2 years in Perl) performing software
architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation
of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems)
• One or more years of experience with MySQL
• Familiarity with software design and coding at both the application and system level
• Experience as a software engineer developing and deploying software on UNIX or Linux Servers

Presentation and Briefing techniques; problem solving strategies/methods; team-building; customer service
principles
