Roman Banquet At the end of our unit on Ancient Rome, you and your group will participate in a Roman Banquet in class. The banquet has three parts: 1. The Play: Each group will be assigned a significant event from Ancient Roman history or mythology. Your group will work together to write and film a five-minute play on your topic. Requirements: A. Written script B. Video to play in class C. Props D. Costumes 2. The Banquet: Each group will set up a banquet table in class with real food eaten by the Ancient Romans. Requirements: A. Ancient Roman food and drink for your group to share (at least three different items) B. Plates, napkins, utensils, etc. (Use only plastic utensils and paper plates, no real knives or anything made of glass) C. Decorations for your table (optional) 3. The Costume: On the day of the banquet all students will be dressed as Ancient Romans (you may use your same costume in your play). Requirements: A. Toga made from a sheet or blanket (you will receive a separate handout with instructions) B.
