Brandon Lopez Week Weather Report Geo 1700

The week of April 12 th

through the 18 th

was filled with highs and lows. Utah is known for bipolar weather and this week was a prime example. The week started off hot then got cold, and back to hot again. Temperatures got from 37 degrees all the way up to 76 within a day. I wouldn’t say it was a typical week of spring but that’s what makes Utah, Utah.

Sunday the 12 th

came to a high of about 57 degrees and a low of 40. Weather was partly cloudy, but mostly sunshine. In the morning the weather was pretty chilly, around 40 degrees until about noon. Then temperature increased and there were winds coming in. Scattered clouds were in the sky until about 5pm. Monday the 13 th had very nice weather throughout the day. The morning started off with clear skies and minimum winds. Around noon the temperature reached to about 70 degrees. At about 2pm the temperature reached 74 and did not have any winds to cool it down. Around 6pm the temperature decreased to 50 degrees with scattered clouds. Once night time came, temperatures dropped to 39 degrees. Tuesday the 14 th

was also nice weather due to the high temperature of 76 degrees that came around 3pm. The morning started with clear skies from 6:00am to 12:00-pm with a wind at about 5mph. Around 2pm is when the temperature increased and clouds started to form. No chance of precipitation and low humidity throughout the evening. After 7pm, the weather decreased to around 38 degrees and eventually dropping to

33 degrees. That’s when the weather decided it had plans of its own. The next day, Wednesday the 15 th

, the morning started out at 30 degrees with snow coming in like it was the middle of winter. At 12pm the temperature rose to only 37 degrees and the snowing did not let up. Winds reached about 10-15mph until about 5pm. The temperature was consistently around 30 degrees, with the low being 29. That would be the last of time temperatures reached that low this week because the following day was a new chapter. Thursday, April 16 th

started out with cloudy skies and a steady temperature of 40 degrees. Around 2pm the sun was out, the skies were clearing up,

Brandon Lopez Week Weather Report Geo 1700 and the temperature increased to 52 degrees with wind speeds down to 5mph. You would never think it just snowed the previous day. The day ended with clear skies, little wind, and a temperature of 32 degrees. Friday, the 17 th

was an even warmer day with the temperature starting at 50 degrees. Around 12pm it was partly cloudy, but mostly sunny. Then temperature reached a high of 62 degrees and later came down to 38. The evening ended with little winds of only about

5mph and clear skies. Saturday the 18 th

started out with a beautiful sunshine, no winds, no clouds. The temperature started at 55 degrees and eventually got up to 67 degrees which meant perfect weather for a Saturday, or any day for that matter. The winds eventually picked up around noon and stayed until about 4pm then started to decrease. Even the night wasn’t as cold as it had been in the previous days with a temperature of 41 degrees.

Throughout the week the temperatures have changed and have gone from high to low within a day. The weather is always unpredictable, especially living in Utah. That’s one of the reasons why I appreciate the weather. Nice weather days don’t always come, so when they do its best to make the most of them.
