IT IS HEREBY AGREED UPON BY BOTH PARTIES THAT THE FOLLOWING
CONDITIONS BE MET AND THAT NO OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS ARE
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.
Seller guarantees that the puppy is a purebred ___________________ Great Dane.
(color)
Offspring of the above mentioned Sire and Dam.
Buyer understands that the puppy is being sold on a SPAY/NEUTER contract ONLY,
and that in order to qualify to receive FULL AKC REGISTRATION the puppy must be
altered; Females before their first heat and Males before 18 months of age, but
neither before 10 months of age. Proof of surgery may be provided in the form of an
official letter addressed from the licensed Veterinarian and/or his/her office.
Letters may be submitted via Airmail or Email.
Buyer certifies that s/he is not acting as an agent for another individual, company or
organization in the purchase of this puppy, and will not sell this puppy to any mass
producing kennel, pet store, business or any other agency.
Buyer promises to keep this Dane in a proper manner suitable for the breed. S/He
shall not be kept permanently in a kennel indoor or out. Buyer certifies that the
Dane will not be kept crated for long periods of time and should s/he need to be
crated, an appropriately sized open top exercise pen will be used. Buyer also agrees
to maintain the health of the Dane with regular visits to the Vet, maintaining copies
of all health records. If problems arise concerning keeping, training or otherwise
caring for the Dane, or should the Dane become ill, the BUYER agrees to contact the
BREEDER immediately! If it should prove necessary for the Dane to be removed
from the home, the BUYER agrees to return him/her to the BREEDER or go through
the BREEDER to find the most appropriate placement for the Dane. Selling to a third
party is permissible only after prior consultation with the Breeder, whereby the
main consideration is the assurance that the Dane is passed to responsible owners.
AT NOT POINT IN TIME is the Dane to be placed in a shelter, SPCA, rescue or other
similar facility. This Dane comes out of a breeding program established by TREOWE
BLUES GREAT DANES, and has been carefully and painstakingly reared. The Dam
and Sire were bred with the aim of producing healthy puppies that meet and
proudly represent the AKC breed standards.
Seller guarantees this puppy to be free of communicable disease as appears to the
eye at the time of transition. At the expense of the BUYER, a licensed Veterinarian
should exam this Dane within 48 hours of possession to validate this Health
Guarantee. If the puppy is acquired on a Friday, this contract allows for the exam to
take place the following Monday.
During the initial evaluation, should this Dane be found in ill health, the cause of
which is clearly attributed to the Breeder, this Dane may, upon written diagnosis
from a licensed Veterinarian, be returned to the seller in exchange for a Dane of
equal value – choice to be determined by the Seller. In the event that no other Dane
is available, a refund may be given if the Dane was examined within the
recommended time frame. Should the recommended time frames not be observed,
a refund will NOT be given, however a replacement Dane will be provided from the
next scheduled litter.
Buyer is responsible for regular veterinary care, including, but not limited to:
remaining vaccinations, periodic worming, flea/tick prevention, heartworm
prevention, etc. All puppies are de wormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks, beginning their
flea/tick and heartworm prevention treatment at 8 weeks with TriFexis. Because
the puppies are allowed continue interactions with the Dam until they go home,
possible re-infestation of the common worm may occur.
Breeder guarantees that all vaccinations and wormings are current. A Shot Record
and Full Health Evaluation will accompany your pet and should be given to your
licensed Veterinarian during the initial check up.
The fact that puppies have been vaccinated does not guarantee immunity – puppies
receive a series of vaccinations that are given at recommended intervals by your
licensed veterinarian.
IMPORTANT  Most often your veterinarian will recommend the Rabies vaccine
at the same time as the final round of combo vaccines, which occurs typically around
16 weeks of age. NEVER give multiple vaccines in conjunction with one another. DO
NOT give the Rabies vaccine prior to 6 months of age. Disregarding these
recommendations leaves your puppy susceptible to various Auto Immune
Disorders, with the most common result being epilepsy.
Breeder does not guarantee the temperament of the Dane, as it is the responsibility
of the Buyer to properly socialize and train.
Breeder does not guarantee against HOD, Pano, OCD and other growth related bone
disorders. These are NOT genetic and can be prevented with proper nutrition and
care. Other common breed related issues not covered are Cherry Eye, Bloat/Torsion
of the stomach.
A returned puppy must be returned to the Breeder in good condition (aside from
any health or medical condition already discussed as basis for return), at the
BUYERS expense.
If you plan to crop ears – Breeder does not guarantee that the ears will stand. It is
the responsibility of the BUYER to properly tape the ears and train them to stand.
Please do proper research and locate an experience, licensed Veterinarian to
perform the surgery as well as guide the taping process after surgery.
Breeder offers NO guarantees or warranties against health related problems caused
by improper nutrition or care, nor any accident or illness, which occur after the
Dane has transitioned. No veterinarian expenses, quarantine, shipping charges, etc.
shall be paid or compensated by the Breeder.
The health of our puppies is of utmost importance! Should there be conditions
outside our control that make travel and delivery of the Dane dangerous, we will
delay shipment or meeting arrangements for a later date and time.
When shipping puppies, we do so after Eight (8) weeks of age, following approval by
our licensed veterinarian after a physical exam has been conducted. A puppy carrier
is provided at the expense of the BUYER along with a health certificate provided by a
licensed Veterinarian.
Guarantees are non-transferable and valid only to the original buyer.
Every effort has been made to assure that the Dane has been properly cared for, has
received proper vaccines and has been dewormed at regular intervals up to the date
of delivery. The BUYER has been informed of these as well as future vaccinations
and wormings due and agrees to provide proper care. Failure to do so will render
this contract null and void.
All items covered are by replacement only – no refunds are given, except in the
event that a puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian within the
recommended time frame and found to have a serious genetic defect.
Replacement puppy will be mutually agreed upon by both parties and will be of
comparable quality and price. It is understood that a replacement puppy may not
be from the exact same parents at the original puppy.
There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors that are
not covered under this contract, for example, Demodectic Mange, Allergies, Thyroid
Dysfunction and other Auto Immune Disorders. A physical problem or
malformation as a result of injury after the Dane has transitioned is not covered
under this contract.
BUYER agrees NOT to begin strenuous activity/exercise with the Dane until s/he
has reached at least 18 months of age. Stairs are to be avoided until Six (6) to Eight
(8) months of age. All play time/rough housing must be managed during the first
Six (6) months – also known as the Rapid Growth Stages. This is to prevent bone
growth development disorders and damage to the Dane during the formative stages.
Any surgeries resulting in the death of the puppy are NOT the responsibility of the
Breeder.
Treowe Blues Great Danes and its owners, Ty and Lynnsey Ramsey, cannot be held
liable for any damages by fault of the Dane after the time of sale. These damages
include, but are not limited to destruction of property, and/or physical damage to
any person or group of people.
If for any reason the BUYER is not able to keep a Treowe Blues Great Dane, s/he is to
immediately contact the BREEDER. Under no circumstances should the Dane be
taken to a shelter, rescue, SPCA or any other drop off facility. Treowe Blues Great
Danes observes and open door policy and will work through the re-homing logistics
should the situation arise.
This contract is made out in duplicate so both the BUYER and BREEDER has a copy.
It is also available online at all times.
