Communications Officer Job details Job title: Communications Officer Responsible to: Responsible for: Location: Communication functions, event management and delivery of the communications plan for the Liverpool Waves of Hope Project Campaigns Manager Liverpool with travel across all locations Overview of the role The Communications Officer supports the Head of Communications and Campaigns Manager in the delivery of excellent communication functions across the organisation. Develop and deliver a successful group wide events programme for both staff and customers. Oversee the co-ordination of the communications plan for the Liverpool Waves of Hope Project which is funded by The Big Lottery. Main responsibilities and accountabilities Support the Head of Communications in providing an effective communications service to the organisation, working as part of an integrated and innovative communications team, delivering excellence at all times. Develop and deliver a varied programme of events including staff and customer events, using creativity in terms of content, delivery and promotion and providing advice and guidance to ensure all events are delivered to an excellent standard. Assist the Campaigns Manager in developing and delivering successful and effective campaigns by offering support and advice on communicating messages and monitoring feedback. Support and assist to produce a range of creative marketing materials, offering suggestions and solutions when necessary, in terms of design and content. Liaise with external agencies for sourcing work eg design of marketing materials, event management activity and other communication related work. Being confident in sourcing quotes for relevant work and developing professional relationships with suppliers. Procure promotional merchandise for relevant teams following Plus Dane’s Procurement Policy and ensuring value for money is followed. Support the Digital Communications Officer in keeping Plus Dane’s website and intranet up to date with key information and images. Work as a flexible member of the Communications Team, offering support and advice when Communications Officer necessary, including to wider teams also contributing ideas and participating in projects when required. Be able to deal with enquiries from other teams in relation to routine communication issues and develop effective working relationships with internal colleagues across the organisation and external partners and customers. Ensure individual objectives and progress of work is recorded on Covalent on a regular basis. Liverpool Waves of Hope Project – as part of a £10m project which Plus Dane project manages working with external agencies, you will oversee the communications work-stream, liaise with key stakeholders including delivery partners, expert citizens and wider stakeholders to ensure that the work-stream is progressed to support the achievement of the program’s aims and objectives. This role is funded by The Big Lottery for 14 hours (two days) per week for all aspects of communication actions delivered within the team (a weekly timesheet will need to be completed). The role includes: o o o o o o To lead the development and delivery of the marketing and communications plan To ensure marketing and communication activities are delivered within budget and to agreed timescales To track marketing and communication deliverables using appropriate tools To constantly monitor and report on progress of the communications plan to the Project Manager To present reports defining progress, problems and solutions to the Project Manager To attend relevant meetings such as the Internal Project Group and provide relevant updates.
