Third Annual Syzygy 4H Equine Vision Journey Self-Discovery Workshop Experience Horses in a whole new way! June 15-16, 2013, Evergreen, CO Limited number of attendees will be selected by Application Process. Applications due May 1, 2013. What it is: This workshop is perfect for teenagers exploring their future paths in life and for just getting to know themselves at a deeper level. This two-day workshop for high school 4H’ers will provide an opportunity to learn more about the growing field of Equine Guided Education and experience the lessons of wisdom that horses can teach us. The participants will slow down to the pace of the horse to examine their passions, strengths and life dreams. They will take time to listen to their inner voice, and explore how the horses can reflect their inner emotions and feelings and help each person uncover their Authentic SELF! By the end of the journey, each participant will walk away with solid plans of action that will help them move forward in living their unique passions. Why Equine Guided Education? Equine Guided Education integrates horses into traditional coaching and consulting work to enhance leadership and communication skills, and create innovative breakthroughs in a ‘not so traditional way.’ Bringing the horse into the transformation process is a powerful and experiential path to help people learn more about themselves. Teams discover new ways of working together, leaders experience the intricacies of leadership styles and individuals get to the heart of their feelings and desires. The horse as a teacher, mirrors our body language and emotions – bringing new insights in new ways – creating impactful and lasting change. The horse can help: Participants get in touch with their whole mind, body and spirit. They will work from a place of authenticity, grounded in their strengths and personal values. Horses help connect us to our inner leader, and provide us with real world practicalities of how we lead every day. Engaging others to be part of our herd requires a mastery of communication, collaboration and shared leadership. Through equine guided learning, horses can heighten the awareness of leadership styles, team dynamics and effective communication. Opening horizons to new visions and new opportunities requires changed ways of thinking. Horses take us out of our everyday environments, freeing the mind to innovate and motivate Visit the Syzygy website at http://syzygy-co.com/vision-workshops/colorado-4h-equine-vision-journey/ for more information and to hear a video from the 2011 4H Equine Vision Journey participants. From a 4H participant in a Syzygy Workshop: “My weekend at the retreat really inspired me to look further into the relationships we share with horses, and animals in general. I’m hoping to look into all of the different therapeutic ways that horses in particular help to positively direct us in life, and have actually changed my degree to Sociology because of the retreat! I knew my horse had a huge impact on who I am as a person, but the Syzygy Equine Vision Journey Retreat increased my understanding of how he did. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again! I’m so inspired!!” Who Can Attend: The Application Process is open to any Colorado 4H Horse and Livestock member aged 13-18. The 2013 class will be limited to 15 participants, which will be selected by application due on May 1, 2013 and selected participants will be notified by May 15. All exercises are done on the ground and there is no mounted work. Participants will be working with the Syzygy herd of horses, and will not bring their own horses.
