2015 August and September Newsletter ALA State Convention is over for another year; it was great. We have a new ALA State President, Barbara Washburn. Her theme is “Always Remember” and her leadership school and homecoming reception is October 3, 2015 in Aurora, Nebraska. ALA Department is having another calendar lottery raffle. The sales start September 1st and they are $50.00 a piece like last year. I have 50 calendars available, if anyone would like to help me sell them please contact me. I will bring some to the executive board meeting and the Fall Round-up. Calendar of Events: September 1, 2015 Tuesday Bingo at the Grand Island Veterans Home in the Liberty Café. Sponsored by District 10, be there at 7pm. September 12, 2015 Saturday District 10 Executive Board Meeting. 10am at the Wilcox Lions Hall in Wilcox. The Hall is on the east side of the street (on Main Street). District officers and County Presidents are strongly encouraged to attend. September 19, 2015 Saturday Fall Round-up in Lawrence, NE Kent Kailey Post 45 11:30 am registration starts Noon meal consisting of sandwiches and salads. Free will offering. 1:00 pm Joint meeting with the Legion 2:30 pm auction with proceeds going to the Grand Island Veterans’ Home and the Grand Island Medical Center Please bring items to sell: baked goods, homemade items, canned goods, bought items, and etc. During Department Convention in Kearney, we were given a list of items needed at Grand Island. If you bring items to Fall Round-up, we will be sure to get them there. October 3, 2015 Saturday ALA President Barbara Washburn’s Leadership School and Homecoming Reception in Aurora.
