CHRIST THE KING RESPONSIBLE USAGE OF ICT STUDENT AGREEMENT YEARS Prep- 2 Access to Information & Communication Technology at Christ the King Primary School is provided to promote educational excellence through resource sharing and communication. Students may only use the internet with teacher permission and for educational activities. Internet access is also screened by the Catholic Education Office Melbourne, through Information & Communication Technology tools such as SINA (Schools Internet Network Administration) or Zscaler, which aims to ensure that inappropriate sites are avoided. Web 2.0 data such as Google Apps For Education may be stored in online cloud formats, which may be backed up in multiple global secure locations. The school aims to abide by eSmart protocols. Christ the King Primary School, reserves the right to review any material in user accounts or file server space, in order to monitor appropriate use of the network. Cyber Safety I can only go online or use the Internet at school when a teacher gives permission and an adult is present. If there is something I’m not sure about I will ask my teacher. I will not tell anyone my password. I will not use the Internet, email, mobile phones or any other ICT equipment to be mean, rude, or unkind about other people. If I find anything that upsets me, is mean or rude, or things I know are not acceptable at our school, I will: Not show others Get a teacher straight away GRAD I will ask my teacher’s permission before I put any personal information online (name, address, email address, phone number, photos) I will never use another student’s, or my own full name (first and surname) when making Policy developed 2015 comments on the Internet. I will never use another student’s, or my own name in association with a photo or video posted on the Internet. I will never use an image of myself as an avatar, only a generated character can be used, i.e. monster avatars on the blog. I will only use my school email address for school purposes, including blogging. Responsible Use of Equipment I can only use the computers and other ICT equipment for my schoolwork and only with my teacher’s permission. I will be careful and will look after all our school lCT equipment by: Not being silly and playing around with it bersafety rules Telling a teacher about anything wrong or damaged. I must not bring any ICT equipment/devices (mobile phones, iPods, games, cameras, and software) to school unless written permission has arranged between my parents/carers and my teacher Consequences for not Following the Rules I understand that if I break these rules the school may need to tell my parent(s) /carers. Glossary of Terms ‘ICT’ in this document refers to the term ‘Information and Communication Technologies’ ‘Cybersafety’ refers to the safe use of the Internet and ICT equipment/devices, including mobile phones ‘Avatar’ is a graphical image that represents a person on the Internet. I acknowledge that my child may use Educational Web 2.0 tools such as Google Apps for Education and Web/Video conferencing as part of their schoolwork. I understand that use of children’s surnames or personal details be will be avoided except in newsletters. I acknowledge that a photograph of my child may be used without acknowledgment, remuneration or compensation in publications (print, websites, DVDs, CD ROMs) and/or presentations of the school, Catholic Education Office Melbourne (CEOM) and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria Ltd (CECV). I have read and discussed these guidelines with my child & sign this statement on their behalf.If parents do not wish their child’s image or work to be published in this way please notify the Principal or ICT Co-ordinator in writing of this matter.
