‫קורס זה מציג מבט פנורמי על מדיניות החוץ האמריקנית במאה העשרים‪ .‬בחלקו הראשון‪ ,‬תפרש‬
‫בפני הסטודנט תמונה מייצגת של דמויות ופרשיות נבחרות שהותירו חותם על התפתחות מדיניות‬
‫החוץ האמריקנית‪ .‬הזרקור יופנה בעיקר לשלשה מכלולים‪ :‬מעורבות ארה"ב במלחמות העולם‬
‫ובמלחמה הקרה; יחסי ארה"ב‪-‬סין; ומעורבות ארה"ב בסכסוך הערבי‪-‬ישראלי‪.‬‬
‫בחלקו השני‪ ,‬חלקית באמצעות הסתמכות על המקרים האמפיריים שהוצגו בחלקו הראשון של‬
‫הקורס‪ ,‬תוצגנה הגישות המרכזיות המשמשות כיום לניתוח מדיניות החוץ האמריקנית‪ ,‬תוך‬
‫חידוד הרגישות לגישות המובילות כיום בניתוח מדיניות החוץ בכלל‪.‬‬

American Foreign Policy during the 20th Century
This course introduces the student to American foreign policy since 1900. The first
part highlights key episodes in the course of American foreign relations. Partly on this
empirical basis, the second part juxtaposes the explanations currently prominent in
this research field.
