Genazzano FCJ College Position Description Title: Reports to: Boatman (Part-Time & Flexible Hours) Director of Rowing The Genazzano FCJ College Rowing Program involves over 100 students from Year 8 to 12 and is a key element of the College sporting program. Operating for over 25 years, the Rowing Club has a proud history of success at Head of the Schoolgirls’, State and National level. Every rower is recognised as an individual and encouraged to reach their potential both at school and beyond. This position has been established to: 1. To provide support in the transportation of equipment to/from regattas and camps 2. To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the rowing program fleet 3. To attend designated regattas to maintain and make repair to boats while in attendance Specific Responsibilities: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Drive a vehicle with a loaded trailer attached including loading and unloading trailers. Ensure all boats are maintained for safe and efficient use by the Program. Rigging up boats to the specification of the Head Coach at regattas. Maintain the equipment as fit for purpose while in attendance at camps and regattas. Ensuring that the boat trailers are kept in a worthy condition. Being generally available to assist crews and coaching staff at the start and finish of outings. Accompanying coaching staff and crews, where required, to regattas and camps and providing them with appropriate technical/mechanical support. This may require overnight stays. 8. Liaise with the Director of Rowing and/or Head Coach as necessary on repair/maintenance of rowing related equipment Note: The position holder may be reasonably required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The position will be employed initially on a casual/at call arrangement. The Director of Rowing will determine the hours required on a weekly basis dependent upon the timetable needs of the Rowing program and the work required for that period on the program fleet. The salary will be a casual rate of $25 per hour for all hours worked including regatta’s and camps. Where approved personal vehicle usage (if elected by the post holder) occurs, a reimbursement via the salary system will be paid at 76c per kilometre inclusive of fuel. The boatman may be also required to attend additional weekend events and/or attend in advance of regatta days (upon prior arrangement/agreement). All hours will be recorded by Fortnightly Timesheet and submitted to the the Director of Rowing & Business Manager for approval. As this is the first time such a role has been appointed at the College, a review of the position and hours of work will be undertaken to ensure the arrangement meets the needs of the Program.
