New additions for 2015: A NEW COMPETITION SITE AND A NEW WEBSITE
To all Canadian Rowing Clubs,
To all rowers,
It’s with great pleasure that the Coastal Rowing Regatta Organising Committee, in collaboration with
Alma Rowing Club and Festirame, invites you to take part in the 5th edition of the Coastal Rowing
Regatta held in Alma, a friendly town located just two hours from the City of Quebec. We would be
honored for you to join us once again for this year's regatta.
The coastal rowing regatta will be held Saturday, July 11th, at Colonie Richelieu beach, 461 road no 6,
QC-169 route, Metabetchouan-lac-a-la-croix. This sandy beach is bordered by the Véloroute des Bleuets
(bike trail) that skirts along Lac Saint-Jean's 256 km banks.
Any rower used to the classic rowing boat will enjoy a safe and please experience with the coastal
rowing boat during this Regatta. Of course, Euro Diffusion’s rowing boat will be available for location.

Departures and qualifications will depend on the number of entries. The regatta course will have the
same shape and distance as the previous one, offering an 8 km course and a 4km distance for the
qualifications.
Register on our website from May
19th for this year's regatta for
rowing as solo, double or quad
with cox. A healthy lunch, included
in the registration fee, will be
provided for the rowers on the
regatta site. Also a reservation for
dinner will be made at a
restaurant for those who would
like to eat together after the
regatta; participants will have to
pay for their own bill.
This competition will be an incredible opportunity to practice coastal rowing in an exceptional lake. An
extraordinary experience, in a wonderful scenery is waiting for you.
This year, we are proud to present a brand new website: www.avirondemeralma.com, which is entirely
dedicated to the competition. On this site, you’ll find a wealth of information regarding the coastal
rowing regatta. Information will be updated regularly and registration will be available online. We invite
you to visit the site on a regular basis for updates and more!
Registration deadline is JULY 6, 2015. Additional costs will be charged in case of late registration.

Also, the preliminary program will soon be available on our new website. The first race of the day is
scheduled for around 8:30 a.m. The pre-competition meeting for all participants is mandatory and will
take place on Friday, July 10th from 7:00 p.m. at La Boîte à bleuets, 525, Sacré Coeur street West. Safety
measures and information regarding the regatta's course will be presented. The participation of at least
one representative per crew or boat is required and that representative must communicate the
information received to the crew members.
With support of olympian Guylaine Bernier, coastal rowing leader in Québec, our regatta meets the RCA
standards which are similar to the international level. Guylaine will serve as Chief umpire again for our
regatta. This year, with the support of RCA, we have been able to publicize our regatta on the FISA
international regattas calendar. (www.worldrowing.com)
We also invite you to participate to the Festirame regional festival that will take place July 4 to July 12
2015. This festival included a lot of different activities spreaded over 9 days: A 42 km rowing marathon,
a provincial bike competition, 2 days of street activities, including a parade, fireworkds and many shows
from popular Québec artists every evening. The complete program is available on Festirame’s web site

It is with great pleasure that the Alma rowing club, Festirame’s organizers and Alma city wish to
welcome many of you again this year, for the Coastal Rowing Regatta.

Alma town and the competition site are provided for participants.
