Topic: Career Trail program from OSU Career Services with Carolyn Killefer – What is Career Trail and ways to incorporate career development into student staff training. Today Today’s presentation was on the OSU Alumni Association (OSUAA) with The OSU Foundation, presented by Lacie LaRue, Suzanne Flores and Kate Sanders. Lacie is the Senior Director of Annual Giving Programs with the OSU Foundation. She works on any annual or repetitive gifts under $25,000. She makes sure all fundraising and sponsorship programs are donor-centered. She also works with data requests. The OSU Foundation uses Advance to store data on alumni, donors and friends of OSU – anyone who has a connection to OSU. Requests for mailing lists or contact information go across her desk. The OSU Foundation can provide fundraising consultation. You can work with a Foundation representative regarding what you want to do. They can provide reply cards, appeal codes and other request details. The OSU Foundation asks that you get your alumni lists from them. You can request a list through a link on their website, http://osufoundation.org/. At the bottom of the page, click on Staff Resources, select Online Forms, then Report/Data Request. You can list Lacie LaRue as your sponsor. You will have an option to receive the data yourself or have it sent to OSU Printing & Mailing Services. If you are receiving the data you will need to sign a confidentiality agreement. Lacie suggests allowing 1014 days to get a data list. If you are providing a list of names to the OSU Foundation to get addresses or contact information, you will need to provide student ID numbers, too, even if the student is no longer enrolled. There are many people with the same name, so they need the ID number to code the correct person. You can also provide lists of students and their ID numbers to have the OSU Foundation code that the student was involved with your program in the system. Lacie also oversees the annual solicitation calendar, so she can help you to decide the best time of year to send a solicitation. Lacie can be reached at Lacie.LaRue@oregonstate.edu or 541-737-4704.
