NAME: XYZ
AGE: 14 years
SEX: Female
ADDRESS: Yalakeli, Wardha
CLINICAL HISTORY
C/C-A 14 yrs old female patient, residing in Wardha reported to the dental OPD with a chief
complain of swelling in the lower left posterior region of jaw since 1 yr.
HOPI- Patient was apparently alright 1 yr back after which she noticed a swelling in the left
mandibular posterior region of jaw, which was initially small in size and gradually increased to
present size in the span of 1 yr.
No H/O anesthesia or paresthesia in that region, no H/O mobility or exfoliation of teeth from that
region, No H/O of trauma.
Now patient is complaining of pain in the same region since 2 days which is dull aching and
continuous in nature. Pain aggrevates on chewing and gets relieved on taking medications. But
the nature of medication is not known.
PDH,PMH,H/H-NOT CONTRIBUTORY
PERTINENT CLINICAL FINDINGS:
FACIAL SYMMETRY- bilateral asymmetry present due to swelling present on the mandibular
posterior region, extending AP- from left corner of mouth to the angle of mandible and SI from
the left ala tragus line to the lower border of mandible.
Tender, firm to hard, No crepitus or crackling present on palpation.
L.N.- B/L submandibular lymph nodes palpable, each of size approximately 0.5X0.5 cms,
roughly round , firm,mobile,non-tender

Dentigerous cyst with developing 38.

RADIOGRAPHIC DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS :
•
Ameloblastic Fibroma
•
Odontogenic myxoma
•
Ameloblastoma
•
Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor
TREATMENT OPTIONS:
• Enucleation And Curettage.
• Enucleation, Curettage and Chemical cauterization.
• Cryo surgery.
• En-block resection and reconstruction.
• Not sensitive to radiation
TREATMENT DONE: Enucleation, Curettage and chemical cauterization of bony
cavity with extraction of |7 8 under GA
FINAL DIAGNOSIS (Histopathology): ODONTOGENIC MYXOMA
