Weekend Interclub Competition Rules JUNIOR GRADES Premier Juniors – Watt Cup 1. Format Championship Grade format is matchplay without handicap. There shall be 4 players in each team contesting 4 singles matches and 2 team-ball matches. Play is in fours, with two members of each team in each four. The best score on each hole by each team in each four advances to a team-ball. One point is contested for each singles match and one point for each team-ball match. Teams may be mixed, boys and girls. Play for boys is to be played off the Back Club Tees, commonly referred to as the Blue tees or equivalent and play for girls of the Forward Club Tees, commonly referred to at the White tees or equivalent. 2. Eligibility Junior Premier is restricted to players under 19 years of age as at the 1 February in the year of the competition. Specific Rules apply to Clubs with more than one team in the Premier Grade to restrict the movement of players between those teams, preserve the fairness of the competition and retain the right of Clubs to utilise the players available. Clubs with two teams must: Nominate which of their teams is the higher ranked team. Nominate the four first choice players for each team Nominate two players in each team who may not play in the other team. Players may move between teams provided: They are not one of the two players nominated as not being able to move between teams Players not nominated as first choice players may play no more than two matches for either team, but thereafter they may play for one or other of the teams but not both. The play in the post round-robin elimination rounds, a player must have played at least two matches in the round robin play. 3. Competition There will be 8 teams and each team will play each other once. At the conclusion of Section Play, the four teams which have scored the most points, not being a Club with two teams in the Premier Grade will advance to contest the Watt Cup, with the remainder of the teams contesting the second Division. Where a Club has two teams in the top four, the lower placed of the two teams will contest the Second Division, with their place being taken by the next highest eligible team. Clubs may have two teams in the Second Division. The Watt Cup is to be decided by elimination series, where the top placed team plays the fourth placed team and the second placed team plays the third placed team. The two winners play off for the Watt Cup. The second Division is to be decide by an elimination series, where the fifth placed team plays the eighth placed team and the sixth placed team plays the seventh placed team. The two winners play off for the Second Division Championship. 4. Hosting 1 All matches will be played at the same course concurrently. Each Club in the Junior Premier Grade will host one round of Section play. Teams playing a fixture at their home course will normally play one fixture against another team at their home course. The semi-final of the Watt Cup will be played at the course of the Club which placed fifth, provided that Club has not a team in the Watt Cup. The semi-final of the Second Division will be played at the course of the Club which placed first, provided that Club has not a team in the Second Division. In the case where a Club may not host due to these conditions, hosting drops to the next placed eligible Club. The final of the Watt Cup and the Second Division will be played at the Club of the highest ranked losing semi-finalist which has not a team in the finals. Club Juniors – Pennants 1. Format The Pennants format is Stableford Strokeplay on handicap. There shall be four players in each team and play is to be in fours with two members of each team in each four. There shall be 4 singles stableford contested and two combined stableford contested. At the conclusion of each round, for the singles, the two stableford scores of each contesting pair are compared, with the highest stableford score winning. For the combined, the two members of each team in each four shall add their stablefords together and the combined score compared to the combined stableford of the other pair, with the highest combined total winning. One point is scored for each win, and half a point for each tie. Teams may be mixed, boys and girls. Play for boys is to be played off the Forward Club Tees, commonly referred to as the White tees or equivalent and play for girls of the Ladies Club Tees, commonly referred to at the Yellow tees or equivalent. 2.
