Pantsless man robs bar
A man robbed a North Augusta bar on Tuesday wearing no pants, a pair of boxers
on his head and using a silver bamboo stick disguised as a gun before fleeing in
the victim’s car, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Marsha Preachers,
an employee, was closing the Wagon Wheel bar on East Buena Vista Avenue
around 11 p.m. when the man entered the bar, approached her at the register
and demanded money, according to the report. “He overpowered me and pushed
me into the liquor cabinet” said Preachers. The man then took an unknown
amount of money from the register before pushing her to the ground again and
going through her purse to find her car keys, according to the report. The man is
still at large.

Bieber is distant cousin of Gosling, Lavigne
Genealogists at Ancestry.com say they’ve discovered teen idol Justin Bieber is a
distant cousin of movie star Ryan Gosling and singer Avril Lavigne. As if Bieber
didn’t have enough superstar genes, Ancestry.com also said he’s a distant relative
of singer Celine Dion. Ercanback said researchers begun tracing Bieber’s family
lineage about a year ago by paging through teen-idol magazines to find
biographical tidbits from the pop star. Ercanback said she didn’t know if these
celebrity links are “sufficient to point to the existence of a superstar gene.” In
July, Ancestry.com announced they had found that President Barack Obama could
be the descendent of an African slave, after an examination of his white mother’s
family history.
Article 3:
Jackets’ offensive line brings size, quickness
After last season, North Augusta lost its starting quarterback, its only running back
that logged serious playing time and two of its top receivers. As a matter of fact,
only two offensive starters returned this year. Luckily for head coach Dan Pippin,

those two starters were sizable tackles, Parker Collins and Jake Whitley. Pippin
said Collins is a funny guy, always trying to crack jokes, but that when the time
comes to get to work, the senior is all business. Whitley is 6-4 and 306 pounds,
but his “quick feet” are responsible for the attention he’s garnered from NC State,
Clemson, Mississippi State and LSU as a junior. The Yellow Jackets have been
able to run the ball this season, with DeVonte Pressley currently sitting in second
in the area with 838 rushing yards on 120 carries with eight touchdowns despite
missing some time with an injury. Backup Willie McCloud has 326 yards and five
touchdowns on 43 carries.
