Scene Starter: An argument between Cinderella and Rapunzel
Who?
 Tinkerbelle- She is the narrator of the play who explains what’s happening to the
audience. She explains the backstories of the characters.
 Cinderella- She is the most popular princess in high school and wants to be prom queen
this year. The only thing is that people at her school don’t know that she comes from a
poor family.
 Rapunzel- She is Cinderella’s best friend and throughout the play she supports and helps
Cinderella to be prom queen. Rapunzel is also known for telling puns all the time. Her
problem is that she secretly wants to be prom queen but she knows that if she wins
Cinderella won’t be her friend anymore.
 Maleficent- She is another popular princess who is arch enemies with Cinderella and
Rapunzel. The reason she hates Cinderella is because she wasn’t invited to her birthday
party when they were little girls. In the play Maleficent is trying to do whatever it takes
so that she becomes prom queen and not Cinderella.
What?
 Cinderella, the most popular princess, is campaigning with her best friend, Rapunzel, so
she can win the ultimate title. Prom Queen. Throughout the week before prom, while
the two princesses’ are campaigning, Maleficent is trying to ruin the girl’s chances to
win prom queen. At the end of the week on prom night, instead of Cinderella or
Maleficent winning prom queen Rapunzel won instead, the last person everyone
expected to win. Tinkerbelle, the narrator, talks about the reason why Cinderella wants
to win Prom Queen and why Maleficent wants to ruin that chance.
Where?
 Takes place at Storybook High School in the Enchanted Forest.
When?
 The princess’s junior year at Storybook High around the time of prom.
Why?
 Due to Cinderella’s home life, she wants to win prom queen so that she finally feels
loved. Maleficent is trying to ruin Cinderella’s chance at becoming prom queen because
Maleficent felt left out ever since she wasn’t invited to Cinderella’s birthday party.
