Welcome and Prayer
Dr. Priddy called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. and had opened with prayer.

Old Business

Review of Minutes from May 27
Faculty reviewed minutes from the last meeting, May 27. Dr. Ennis noted a correction that
needed to be made in item 76.0 on the example provided for the new rounding off policy.
Change 2.50 to 2.47 (as an example of rounding off a 2.466 GPA to hundredths place). Minutes
were accepted by acclamation.

Undergraduate
3.1.1.1 CAP 2
In New Business, Dr. Hedgepath made a motion to approve three CAP 2 candidates. Two of the
candidates are P-5 and one is 8-12 Social Studies. Dr. Walker seconded. Motion carried.
3.1.1.2 Student Change of Major
Dr. VanEst made a motion to approve a student’s change of major (Lisa “Jill” Byrne). Mr.
Cheatham seconded. Motion carried.

Graduate

MASE: CAP 7
Ms. Wheat made a motion to approve 29 MASE CAP 7 candidates. Thirteen candidates are
TRACs 3 and 4 (initial certification) and sixteen are TRACs 5 and 6 (continuing education). Dr.
Allen seconded. Motion carried.
3.2
Discussion of KTIP Refresher Training
Faculty discussed the need for a refresher training on KTIP. Dr. Ennis agreed to conduct the
training on Monday, August 29, at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room.
3.3
Discussion of Procedures for Course Schedule Changes
Next, Dr. Priddy explained a new procedure for schedule changes for all education programs. In
the future, when a schedule change needs to be made, the appropriate program coordinator must
submit it to the Dean’s office for final review and sign-off. The Dean will submit changes to
Connie Wilson in Dr. Cheatham’s office. Mrs. Wilson will re-direct any proposed changes made
by any faculty back to the Dean’s office. The purpose of the change is to insure that the most
accurate, up-to-date schedules of course offerings and staffing is available through the Dean’s
office.

Minority Scholarship Recipient
Dr. Priddy announced the recipient of the minority scholarship recipient. It is Whitney Vaughn,
who is student teaching this semester.

EPSB Presentation to LRC on Educator Preparation
Faculty is encouraged to review an EPSB presentation of educator preparation made by Dr. Phil
Rogers to the Legislative Research Commission.
