Letter from the President September 24, 2013 Hello everyone! It is really hard to believe that summer is now over. I cannot wait for the temperatures to break just a bit here in Florida. We’ve had a hot and wet summer….but is was fun! From an organization perspective, we have made some changes that I’d like to share with you: Seaplace Staff: Wendy Cichowski has been promoted to the new position of Seaplace Operations Director. She will continue to oversee her former responsibilities and, in addition, supervise the entire team of Seaplace employees; Cleaning, Gate Access, Maintenance, Office and Pool Staff. She will continue to report to Bill Deskus, Seaplace General Manager. Wendy, congratulations on a job well done. We look for continued success with your expanded set of responsibilities. Char Stanet has returned from Maternity Leave to assume Wendy’s old responsibilities and will continue to report to Wendy. Welcome back Char! We are all excited to have you back and an integral part of the Seaplace team! Board of Directors: Roy Nevans, Board Director, has agreed to assume the role of Building Committee Chairman that was recently vacated when Bob Wyatt stepped down. We are going to miss Bob’s great work and wish him the best. I am personally excited that Roy has agreed to lead this very important team. I know that we are going to be in great hands as they begin the work we have set out for them. Please take a moment to reach out to Wendy, Char and Roy and congratulate them on their new Seaplace focus. As owners, we are fortunate to have such a strong team; both from an Office Staff and Board of Directors perspective. The folks involved in the operations of Seaplace either from a paid position or volunteer perspective are second to none! The changes announced above will ensure that the needed focus and expected results will continue as we move forward. On a personal basis, I now have almost six months under my belt as your Board President. I continue to work hard every day to support the efforts of our Seaplace team. I’m excited about what we will accomplish in the next six months. Bill is hard at work preparing an overall list of summer accomplishments that will soon be published on our website. The team has been extremely busy this summer with planned maintenance activities and some unplanned. Please check our website for more information. For those of you returning to Seaplace later this year, I’d like to meet as many of you as possible. I want to learn firsthand about your expectations and ideas for Seaplace. Please consider giving me a call when you arrive. Also, beginning in November, I plan to hold a weekly coffee session where I will be available in the clubhouse to work directly with you on any concerns and ideas that you may have. Please check the bulletin boards when you arrive for the day and time for these weekly sessions! Mike Renick President Seaplace Association M1 – 603 Direct: 941-400-8735 Email: mjrenick@verizon.net
