PTA Movie Night – Thursday 26 th November
We are holding a movie night on Thursday 26 th November from 3.15pm to 5.15pm – a good way to start your
Christmas shopping whilst the children enjoy an after school movie. We will be showing ‘Home’ so bring along your favourite pillow or toy and snuggle up to watch the film. Tickets cost £3 per child and this includes refreshments. Please return the reply slip (at the bottom of this newsletter) along with your payment to the school office no later than Monday 23 rd November.
Christmas Fair - helpers wanted
The PTA would really appreciate some helpers at this year's Christmas Fair on Saturday 5 th December, 11am to
2pm, so if you are able to spare 30 minutes or more to help out on the festive game stalls, arts & craft activities or in the cafe, please add your name to the sign-up sheets that will be on display in the foyer from
Monday. The Christmas Fair raises lots of money for the PTA which is then spent on all the children in the school but can only be successful with lots of help, so please sign-up if you can.
Dodgeball/Athletics/Football
Well done to our Dodgeball team they played really well and gained third place.
Also, well done to the athletics team, who came first in the field events and second overall. We had some excellent individual results from both the girls and boys.
We have a girl’s football tournament next Wednesday, I will let you know how we get on next week.
Year 6 Down On The Farm
Our ten year 6 children have had an incredible time this week learning about life down on the farm and how we are fed. They have taken part in milking, cooking, growing and harvesting their meals plus much, much more. I am sure they will be keen to share their week with us.
I know Mr Inskip, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Staples have also had a fantastic week, many thanks to them for giving up their time to take our children on this extended visit.
Hrothgar The Viking
Year 4 will be visited by Hrothgar next Wednesday. He will be supporting their history curriculum and I am sure will also inspire much reading and writing.
We are hoping that Hrothgar will find the time to visit other classes.
Children in Need
Many thanks for supporting this charity. The children love dressing up and we have raised £197.25 for this worthy cause.
Lost Property
Please could you contact the school office if you have lost a mobile phone recently.
Lantern Making
Year 2 and 3 will be making lanterns ready for the Lantern Procession on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
Thank you to Helpful Children
I would like to thank all the children who have been so kind and helpful to me as I am unable to use my right hand. They have been helping with bell ringing, writing certificates and much more and I will be asking them to continue to help over the next few weeks.
Attendance
There has been quite a lot of illness this week, hopefully the cold weather will help kill off any bugs.
