Discussion:
Winter Concerts - Dec 9th is Choral & Band High School 7:30pm (Bart & Wendy), 10 th is district band at General Wayne
7pm (Carol), 11th is Middle School 7pm (Jen L & Meg), Jan 27th instrumental concert with chamber singers. We need
people to do 50/50 and cookbooks.
Band is being cut to 10 min at winter concert. It was suggested that we change the order of things so that the choral
parents don’t leave as the band comes on. NEED to address that the parents linger in hall while band plays
Malvern Victorian Christmas - First Baptist Church, Friday Dec 5th 6:30 & 7:00
Parade in Downingtown Dec 13th at 3pm.
Fundraising

Discussion:
Poinsettia’s, prices went up by$ .50-$2.00, Carol to provide pictures to Jim to post on website. Centerpieces to be in a
sleigh in with a plant and a candle. Pizza prices are still the same (Maria) - both start today and go until the day before
Thanksgiving. We will pick up on Dec 6th. Car wash (Carol) waiting for Jane to Nov 21-Dec 12. Delivery before
Christmas.

1pm time slot for Hershey, awards at 2:30pm, then chocolate world.
Banquet

Discussion:
Jan 11 at 11am. Wendy to lead this year’s committee. Will organize menu, gifts, program, video (Morgan), Need baby
pictures of the Seniors (2-3 pics). Meg, Bernie, & Jen. Freshman get framed pictures, Letters & pins for Sophmores,
Sweatshirts for Juniors, Mugs for Seniors, Keychain for drum major. Request for extra picture for Karen’s Dad (Gas
works) Propane tank for all band to sign, and invite him to banquet.
Playoff Games

Discussion:
Playoff game is Octarara …we will play pregame show, we will have halftime off and play all Quarters. Its also middle
school band night. (we will do middle school coupons for protein, drink, fries)
If we win this one, we play again home, then we could play a third game but we would not play a field show, a modified
show, and stand tunes, Dec 5th state championship,
Indoor Band Stuff

Discussion:
Pep band will probably be a couple Thursday after school practices after Thanksgiving, and then we will perform Thursday
nights once games start (no practice). Nov-Jan. We would like to get T-shirts this year.
This year (Dec-April) we will do indoor guard and percussion. Competitions would be on Saturdays. We need to get the
district to cover staff costs for next year. BUT for this year, we would like the GVMPA to “sponsor” the staff this year.
Matt will put together a formal proposal. (Thinking that is would be around $3000.00) District would provide buses and
trucks and then we would try to borrow a floor could be 15 color guard & 20 percussion.

Discussion:
Meeting with Downingtown to discuss how they did it. This will allow us to receive tax deductible donations from
businesses and people. It will allow us to create scholarships without additional funds. It will allow company matching for
donations. We will need an accountant to do our taxes each year.
Choir

Discussion:
Piano is 25 years old rotting from the inside out. We need to get it repaired. Double action issues, Screws loose, wires
hitting kids. Yamaha piano to go from auditorium to choir room …Piano to cost $40K with $5K trade in. Ashley is
writing a grant to The Foundation, asking the district, and asking the GVMPA. District has known for 2 years. We need a
piano that has a self-regulating humidifier in order to protect it in the future. Ashley to put together a formal proposal
when she has an amount to ask of GVMPA.
