About the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead The Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead (FDBH) is a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of volunteers. The FDBH jointly manage the Daniel Boone Homestead (DBH) with the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC). The FDBH took over this management role in 2010 and currently run the site’s daily historic operations and facility rentals. The mission of the FDBH is to interpret the life of Daniel Boone; the experiences of the Maugridge and DeTurk families’; and the settlement, development, and culture of the Oley Valley in the eighteenth and early nineteenth century and to provide recreational and educational opportunities to Pennsylvania and its visitors. Important Information Space is limited on a first-come basis for all programs so reserve a space now! Slight changes may occur to any of the summer programs. History Day Camp participants must bring a bag lunch for all 5 days of camp. Campers should wear comfortable clothing that is OK to get dirty and closed-toe shoes. Most activities are outside, so we advise children to use sunscreen and insect repellant daily, as well as umbrellas if necessary. Children should bring a large shoebox with a lid and a large shopping bag to keep their crafts in. Live the life of young Daniel Boone at the Daniel Boone Homestead’s History Day Camp for Kids Grades 3-6! July 13-17, 2015 An educational and fun colonial adventure where children will be immersed in colonial life! History Day Camp History Day Camp is a week-long adventure where kids will experience and learn what Daniel did while growing up here! Each day will feature a different theme and include activities and demonstrations relating to childhood life in the eighteenth century and will run from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Space is limited to 15 kids. $90/child for all five days, FDBH members $80/child.
