September 27, 2013 Dear Parents, Guardians and Students, You may be aware that a number of years ago a delegation from Wellington Catholic travelled to Korea as guests at a number of excellent Korean schools. During that trip, two of our schools formed a sister-school partnership with Saint Salesio’s Catholic Girls School. As a result of this partnership, Holy Trinity, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Paul and the Wellington Catholic District School Board have teamed up with the PIEA (Peel International Education Alliance) to arrange the hosting of a Korean student exchange program. We are therefore looking for host families for visiting Korean students who are currently in Grades 7 ~9, from Salesio Girls’ Middle School, our sister school in Korea, and from Shinsung Girls School, for a 3 week exchange program. The visit will occur from January 11 – February 1, 2014. We are also looking for a host family for one week for the Vice-Principal, an English teacher, as well as another teacher and his son for the entire trip. The following are the requirements of each host family: Caring, welcoming families who will treat students as part of their families Excellent English language skills, English spoken in the home Private bedroom, shared washroom All meals provided A Criminal Record Check required prior to placement Wireless internet access Pick up & drop off from time to time Weekend (2 Sundays) excursions There will be a stipend provided to all host families. We hope that this successful program will result in our own students travelling to Korea in July! If you are interested in hosting these extraordinary Korean students, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible! Please fill out the attached application form, return it to the school and reserve Tuesday, October 8 at 7:00 on your calendars so that you can attend our Korean Student Exchange Information Night at Saint Paul Catholic School. If you are unavailable on October 8, we are also having a Parent Information Night on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic School. We hope to see you there! Sincerely, Vince Campolongo, Principal, Saint Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School Rob Della Croce, Principal, Saint Paul Catholic School Todd Goodwin, Principal, Holy Trinity Catholic School
