Committee/Working Group Discussion - - - - Admissions: The Admissions Committee will be surveying other area Catholic and public schools to see how these schools market, provide extended day care and set tuition. Advancement Team: The Advancement Team is reaching out to alumni to better involve them in our fundraising efforts. The Board then discussed the Parish Capital Campaign and the need to increase Sunday collections before kicking off the Campaign. Weekly collections are still falling short of budget. 2 vendors are being looked at for the Capital Campaign. An idea being considered is selecting 40 families to serve on a large Capital Campaign Committee. Athletics: Next week, the Committee will be meeting with Mr. Pope. For basketball this year, the 2 Catholic School leagues have been combined into one big league led by the Athletic Directors. The Board discussed track and field as a possible addition to the sports offered at Saint Andrew. If the length of the basketball season is reduced, additional sports may possibly be added. Catholic Identity: The Committee will be meeting on the 29th to plan for the year and discuss possibly pairing with another Catholic School for service opportunities. Finance: Mike Spingola updated the Board on the current School budget by reviewing the current budget spreadsheet. The parapet wall is being finished in the Administrative building. Beyond the Walls is now fully funded. Infrastructure: Once the roof and parapet walls are complete, the administrative offices could be moved upstairs to provide for more classroom space on the ground floor. Legislative: No updates. Middle School: High School night is coming up on the 15th and the first middle school dance of the year will be held on Friday the 30th. Special Events: We just finished Grandparents’ Day in which the School was able to obtain contact information for the attending grandparents and other family members. The Board noted that Grandparents’ Day falls nicely the day after the talent show making it easy for grandparents to attend both events. Principal’s Report III. - - - Mrs. Casavechia noted that pie sales are underway to raise funds for the 8th grade class trip to Washington D.C. A new vendor for pies has been selected. The pies are of good quality with a similar profit margin as the prior vendor. Saint Andrew had a great turn-out for shopping days on Roscoe. Funds raised through shopping days also goes to the class trip. In addition, the 8th grade will be hosting a pizza lunch in the gym on the 23rd after the half day of school. Mr. Ackermann noted that parent conferences are next week, along with the Stanley Cup coming to Saint Andrew on Monday, the 19th! Mr. Ackermann reported that there was a strong turn-out for October school tours. Sean Buino suggested possibly older kids welcoming the touring families as part of the tour. Finally, Mr. Ackermann noted that Saint AndrewPalooza was a huge success. It was a great accomplishment for its first year. The meeting was then adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Liz Vincent
