From the Word… “O LORD, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, O LORD, you know it completely. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it.” Psalm 139:1-6 Please note: - the correct address for E-Life submissions is: communications@anglicanlife.org.nz - E-Life is sent from a “no-reply” address and replies are not received. The Cathedral in the Square continues to be a matter of controversy while the Transitional Cathedral is the only building in NZ designed by a winner of the highly esteemed Pritzker Prize for architecture. In July 2014 the beloved Dean of the new Transitional Cathedral died suddenly and her death continues as a cause of grief across the nation and beyond. The Diocese of Christchurch is now looking for a gifted preacher and a mission-focused and visionary leader for the position of Dean of ChristChurch Cathedral. Excellence in liturgy, church music and particularly the proclamation of the word are priorities. The ability to direct and inspire the mission of the Cathedral for the next decade and beyond will be essential, as is the ability to form a relationship with the local and global community, as the ChristChurch Cathedral continues to work towards re-establishing herself in Cathedral Square. Fundraising for the new Cathedral is an expectation. The new Dean will preside from the Transitional Cathedral for up to nine more years prior to re-location back to Cathedral Square. He/she will possess a commitment to and a deep understanding of the Anglican Church. Strong people skills and a passion for the Gospel are of top importance. The Cathedral anticipates the new Dean will begin the appointment by Pentecost 2015. Interested inquirers should read the Cathedral webpages found at www.christchurchcathedral.co.nz and www.cardboardcathedral.org.nz. Expressions of interest and request for further details should be sent to: The Rt Rev Victoria Matthews email: bishopspa@anglicanlife.org.nz.
