Student Council
Dear Staff:
Our Homecoming this year, as in years past, represents a combined effort
between students and staff. Their commitment to making the Homecoming
activities a success is echoed year after year as previous classes reminisce about
their Homecoming experiences.
To make our 2014 Homecoming an unforgettable week filled with
memorable activities, we are publishing this booklet to help everyone identify
with all the festivities surrounding Homecoming Week.
You will notice this year that the freshmen through senior classes are
again decorating the hallways. The Student Council members are dedicated to
making sure that uncaring students do not destroy the efforts of each class in
any way.
Each year we ask for the support of the staff as we promote Spirit Week
activities. This year, we will be asking the staff to vote for the winners of the
Spirit Week competitions on Monday through Friday online on the Student
Council website.
Thank you once again for all the support you give all the Council
members as we begin our kickoff to our year’s activities with Homecoming
2014.

Students with early dismissals may leave the building after 7th period. If they choose to stay
for the Homecoming Assembly, they are to report directly to the West Gym.
All students enrolled in an 8th period class must report to class and are expected to attend the
assembly. The band plans to begin the Grand March near Room 226 at 2:05 p.m. It will
continue on the 2nd floor, past Room 201 then descend the stairs by the IMC. The parade will
then proceed around the 1st floor, past the Main Office, along the West Wing, turning by Room
116, continuing past the Cafeteria, and finally entering the West Gym. Members of our P.P.S.
team will assist with the 1:30 p.m. dismissal by monitoring entrances. Teachers are asked to
take attendance 8th period, and escort their students to the Gym and remain for supervision
at the assembly.
Students are asked to sit with their respective graduation classes.
To make this work, each of you is asked to follow these guidelines and to share this
information with your 8th period class.
Spirit Assembly
Friday’s Spirit Assembly will begin with dismissal at the end of a shortened 8th period. Once
again, our band will march through the building to lead all the classes to the main gym for the
assembly. Please inform your students that once they reach the gym, they should sit with
their graduation class. Teachers are asked to sit in the bleachers for supervision purposes.
The Spirit Assembly will be kicked off with the presentation of the King, Queen, Prince, and
Princess candidates and their families. Then the competitions will begin. The Homecoming
Spirit Assembly has traditionally served as an opportunity for the classes to compete in a variety
of “silly” games. These games are designed to give each class an equal opportunity to
win. Points are awarded for 1st through 4th place. The Homecoming Spirit Assembly is
for MALE and FEMALE PARTICIPANTS this year.
The winners of the games receive points, which when added to the points earned during the
week, give each class a great chance at winning the Spirit Plaque. The Spirit Plaque is given
to the class showing the most school spirit based on the effort they put forth during Spirit
Week. Spirit Points are awarded for the following activities
* Hall Decs
* Spirit Assembly winners
Each class sponsor and the students supporting their class work extremely hard not only during
Spirit Week, but also, for many days beforehand to assemble hall decs and to prepare for the
Spirit Assembly. Each year Student Council applauds them for their efforts and dedication. This
year’s class sponsors are:
* Senior Class
* Junior Class
* Sophomore Class
* Freshmen Class

and Queen, Prince and Princess will be announced during half-time of the varsity football game

Homecoming Carnival. The carnival will be from 3:30- 5pm. Each grade level is having students volunteer
to help run the carnival smoothly. There will be everything from food to games. Students can either pay
$2 to enter or if they wear their class shirt then they get in free. Promptly at 5:00 PM, the Junior Varsity
will take on the Wolf Pack.

varsity contest. At 7:00 PM, our Titan Varsity Football Team will begin its victory over the
varsity Wolf Pack.
At half-time of the varsity game, the band, cheerleaders and poms squad will
perform. Following their performances, the members of the Homecoming Court along with their
parents will be introduced and presented on the field. The announcement of the King and Queen,
Prince and Princess will take place immediately after the presentation of the Court.
