FUNERAL HELD: John L. "Jack" Hurlbut, Sr.
DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday December 27, 2012, at 11
a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Emmanuel
I. Ajanma was the celebrant and homilist. Assisting as Deacon was The Reverend
Mr. Duane Langlois. Present in the Sanctuary was Father Brian J. O'Donnell pastor
of The Church of the Immaculate Conception, (Saint Mary's Parish), Saint Albans.
Eugene LaBombard and Cleo Yandow served a Ministers of the Altar. Music was
provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Jack's casket by grandsons, Kevin Hurlbut
and Zachary Larose. The Crucifix was then placed by his wife, Sarah Hurlbut.
Special Words of Remembrance were shared by granddaughter, Lauren Larose.
Readings from scripture were proclaimed by granddaughters, Hilary Lussier and
Lauren Larose. Grandchildren, Katie, Gavin, Noah and Jack Hurlbut and Kyle
Herald presented The Offertory Gifts.
Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from, Vermont
Cancer medicine, Bellows Free Academy-Saint Albans including the Athletic and
Hockey Departments Northwestern Medical Center and Auxiliary, Religious
Education Program from The Church of the Nativity Swanton, Saymore of St.
Albans, Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington Cursillo Movement, E-1 Fire
Equipment, Franklin County Home Health Agency-Hospice Program, Ashley
Furniture Homestore, The Superstore, The Total Home Center, Lang Mclaughry
Spera, Merrill Lynch, United States Department of Homeland Security, Boudreau
Electric, Hickok and Boardman, Kittell Branagan and Sargent, Swaney Lighting,
Betty's Flower Basket, SASA, Office Max, Vermont Precision Tools, A.N. Deringer
and the parish communities of Nativity/Saint Louis, Holy Angels/Ascension, Saint
Mary's and Saint Amadeus.
Entombment followed to await Spring Interment in the Hurlbut family lot in Holy
Cross Cemetery. The bearers were, Kevin and Patrick Hurlbut, Zachary Larose,
Michael Boudreau, Travis Noel and Roger Noel.
Following the liturgy a reception was held for family and friends at the Nativity
parish Center hosted by Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Ladies of Saint Anne.
