Communications & PR Officer
Voluntary position, expenses paid and lunch allowance provided
1-day a week, Hampton Wick, Surrey
3 month contract with possible extension for the right person by mutual agreement
We are looking for an externally-orientated Communications & PR Officer to join our busy team.
Jeevika Trust is a small but experienced and ambitious UK registered charity, dedicated to tackling
rural poverty in India. We support people in India who are on the margins of rural society - lowcaste and tribal people, especially disadvantaged women, - and help them build and sustain their

You will be responsible for:
 Developing and implementing our social networking strategy
 Developing our profile and maintaining a strong relationship with local and regional media
including printed press, radio and online
 Providing PR support for all awareness-raising and fundraising events
 Researching, developing and maintaining strong relationship with local networks and
communities
You will need:
 Experience of and a talent for using multiple social networking sites including Twitter, Facebook,
and Linkedin
 Excellent written and oral communications skills
 An out-going personality, willingness to talk confidently to a wide range of people and strong
networking skills
 Experience of working with the media and/or event management would be an advantage
