What is The Military Student Transition
Consultant’s role?
The MSTC works for the Military Child Education
Coalition (MCEC) which is a nonprofit, world-wide
organization that ensures quality educational
opportunities for all military-connected students.
The MSTC can assist parents and students in
understanding the common core standards as
they transition in or leave the district. The MSTC
works with Prince William County military families
to help the student reach their academic,
personal/social and career goals. The consultant
is here to assist families with questions and/or
issues as they arise in transition, deployment, and
relocation. Your MSTC plays a pivotal role to
establish collaboration among the school system,
community services, and installation support
services. The three schools in Prince William
County that the MSTC will be initially working
with will be Ashland Elementary School,
Henderson Elementary School, and Pattie
Elementary School.
