TLPCDC BUS SAFETY RULE
TRAVELLING SAFELY ON THE LITTLE PEOPLE CDC, INC’S SCHOOL BUS
1. Always sit down on a school bus.
2. No loud noises.
3. Keep your hands to yourself.
4. Walk to and from the bus in a straight line, always following the directions of a TLPCDC staff
member.
Bus safety is a TEAM effort - Misbehavior on a school bus may affect all persons travelling on the bus
Not just the one who is misbehaving. Older students set the tone and behavior on a school bus. It is
important to set a safe and positive example. Students need to take their responsibilities seriously.
Others may depend on it! Follow the Bus Safety Guidelines and be a positive role model. Understand
your responsibilities for your own safety and the safety of others. Help Us Keep YOU Safe!
SCHOOL BUS EVACUATION
Try not to scream. It stops you from hearing instructions. To keep yourself safe you will need to know
what to do and do it quickly. Stay quiet when you get to a safe area so you are able to hear further
instructions.
1. Get out as fast as possible. Do not try to look for your book bag or jacket or any other items before
evacuating the bus.
2. Stay at the safe area and do not return to the school bus during the emergency.
EXITS ON A SCHOOL BUS
The main exit is the front side door. Students use this exit whenever getting on or off the school bus.
Rear door exit is used only when the front exit door is blocked and/or may be used along with front door
exit for speedier evacuation.
Side window exits. Used only when the bus has tipped to one side or the other, or if front or rear main
exits are blocked.
STUDENTS WILL EARN YELLOW OR RED TICKETS IF THEY FAIL TO
FOLLOW THE BUS RULES.
1. Yellow ticket will require a face to face meeting with the student’s parents. Continued repeat
unsafe behaviors/incidences may result in termination of bus services to ensure the safety of all
our students.
2. Red Ticket will require a face to face meeting with the student’s parents. Two red tickets in a
month may result in a one day suspension of transportation services. Continued repeat unsafe
behaviors/incidences may result in termination of bus services to ensure the safety of all our
students.
All parents of a school-age child this is transported by TLPCDC, Inc. must review and sign that they
received and understand the Bus Safety Policy. It is the primary responsibility of the parents to explain
these rules to their child. Please help us keep your child safe. By signing below I agree that I have read
and understand TLPCDC bus transportation policy. I understand that the bus driver and
Administrator’s decisions to suspend bus service will be carried out the next school day and is final.
Parents who to write a letter to the Parent-Teacher Committee to review the circumstances of the
suspension may do so addressing their concerns to the Parent-Teacher Committee secretary.
