INVITATION Final Conference on enhancing innovation in the food processing sector 17 June 2014 Venue: Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia Dimičeva 13, Ljubljana Slovenia The CAPINFOOD project started in March 2014 for improving the enabling environment and public awareness for innovation in the South East European food sector through transnational collaboration with the participation of 9 countries from the region. The project reached its objectives and improved the enabling environment for food innovation by for example developing national innovation strategies for the food sector, developing pilot systems for institutions for provision of collective innovation support services for food SMEs, integrating non-EU countries into the development of South East Europe and other with different practical tools. Private initiatives in innovation of the food sector is one of the key drives creating new opportunities for the future. Therefore involving young talents is crucial. that is why the project also promoted Ecotrophelia and strong publicity campaign was organized in the participating countries. Since in South East Europe there are several specific problems, difficulties and challenges related to the innovation behaviour of the food businesses, to their available resources and particularly to the enabling environment of the innovation are reasonable to establish a forum to discuss these specific issues for the area. The forum was established by the CAPINFOOD project for better integration of the SEE area into the Pan-European collaboration on improving the competitiveness of the food sector through innovation.
