TRI-COUNCIL DOCTORAL NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI)
Tri-Council doctoral scholarships are amongst the most prestigious awards available in Canada. To be eligible for the
Doctoral Competition, you must have achieved a first-class average of 3.5 or higher in the last two years of study.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is actively working to increase University of Calgary students’ success in these
national level competitions. (FGS also awards Queen Elizabeth II scholarships based on Tri-Council ranks.)
Students who forward an NOI to the Graduate Award Office will be invited to attend a workshop on preparing an
application with the best chance of success. The NOI also informs your department/program to align you with their
mentoring initiatives.
Complete and email to gsaward@ucalgary.ca.
