JOB DESCRIPTION POST TITLE: Technician LOCATION: RESPONSIBLE TO: Sixth Form Study Supervisor / Reprographics North Coast Integrated College The Principal and the Head of 6th Form JOB PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Principal and the Head of 6th Form the post holder will supervise the sixth form area and ensure conditions are conducive to study. He/ she will in addition manage the delivery of reprographic and photocopy services within the College. 1. Study supervision – Main duties and responsibilities 1.1 Supervise senior pupils during their study periods and examinations as required and maintain a quiet academic environment in the school study/library. 1.2 Maintain and advise on mechanisms to improve the study environment for the pupils. 1.3 Communicate with appropriate teaching staff regarding behaviour of pupils. 1.4 Inform appropriate teaching staff of absenteeism of pupils from study periods without permission. 1.5 Ensure pupils maintain a tidy work environment and report any damage. 1.6 Operate manual and/or computerized information systems in connection with pupils. 1.7 Complete and submit all returns/records as required. 1.8 Maintain stock of reference books in sixth form studies. 1.9 Assist in school administration, as required. 1.10 Participate in any relevant training as required. 1.11 Implement all school policies and procedures. 1.12 Such other duties as may be assigned within the level of the post. 2. Reprographics – Main duties and responsibilities 2.1 Management of Services 2.2 Reproduce work for all staff as and when requested within reason. 2.3 Manage the selection of all reprographic equipment and toner stock etc. 2.4 Liaise with the various reprographics suppliers and repair services as and when required. Pupil Supervision supervise senior pupils during their study periods and examinations as required and maintain a quiet academic environment in the school study/library; use the School’s management information system to register pupils into the Sixth Form Study area; maintain and advise on mechanisms to improve the study environment for the pupils; communicate with appropriate teaching staff regarding behaviour of pupils; inform appropriate teaching staff of absenteeism of pupils from study periods without permission; and ensure pupils maintain a tidy work environment and report any damage. Administration operate manual and/or computerised information systems in connection with pupils; complete and submit all returns/records as required; assist the School Business Manager with daily administrative tasks; assist with Library duties when required; assist as an invigilator when required; assist with reprographics/photocopying; assist with Careers administration; maintain stock of reference books in sixth form studies; and assist in school administration, as required. Other duties participate in any relevant training as required; implement all school policies and procedures; and such other duties as may be assigned within the level of the post.
