Hans und die Bohnenranke 1. Cut up and order story – could be in domino format 2. Focus on verb forms: highlight verbs, order into infinitives, command forms + others. 3. Listen to the story (staff could act out + film) – focus on pronunciation patterns: seine, einem, kleinen, Dummer, Jungë, Hunger etc 4. Change sections of text to make own fairytale. 5. Act out original script / act out own script. 6. Storyboard the original script, story board own stories. 7. Find the cognates. 8. Cut text into sections. Pupils work in pairs to change details on just their section. Class reads aloud to make funny story. 9. Categorize languages to recyclable language, junk etc. 10.Give support cards with story continued in bullet points (not in whole sentences) – pupils write out rest of story. 11.Read out first half of story with additional information. Pupils add additional information. 12.Pupils create the scene at the market where Hans is trying to sell his cow – pupils must make apprentice style sales pitch.
