Exhibition Guidelines
The Gallery Space
The shape of the gallery is rectangular and measures 7.4m x 17.5m. The hanging length is 24.9
linear metres down two walls with a height of 3.6m. A third wall is completely mobile and has a
hanging length of 9m and a height of 2.4m and the last wall is all windows.
There are also three internal mobile walls 2.4m wide x 2.2m high complete with hanging tracks on
both sides. There is a full adjustable cable hanging system in place throughout the gallery.
Plinths are available and there is provision for suspending works in space. Ladders and hanging
tools will be supplied.
The lighting system is fluorescent light, although the ambient natural light is adequate. There are
minimal spotlights.
The walls are MDF, so can be hammered into, drawn on etc. Walls are to be repainted and
returned to good condition if damaged when your exhibition is finished. Paint will be provided for
this.
The gallery floors are cement.
The gallery has large south facing street front windows and is located in the main shopping
precinct.
Artists Responsibilities



The artists are required to install and de-install the exhibition. We can provide support
should you need it.
Artists are required to organise gallery sitting for the duration of the exhibition.
The gallery is to be open from 10.00am – 4.00 pm 7 days a week as these are our
published opening times.
Exhibition Costs
Gallery hire for Exhibitions is $120.00 per week unstaffed.
Window Exhibitions are $30.00 per week – does not need to be staffed
 However you can become a member of Lake Grace Regional Artspace for $30.00 then:
Gallery hire for members is $50.00 per week unstaffed
Window box exhibitions are free for members
Bookings for exhibitions are to be paid for in full three months in advance.
Cancellations are to be 2 months in advance (75% refund). Less than 2 months notice there is no
refund.
There is a 25% commission on all exhibition sales deducted by the Artspace.
If you would like your exhibition supervised please call us to discuss this option as the fee
structure is different.
Advertising and Promotion
.Artists will need to supply us with some images and an artist statement about the work for our
promotion of your exhibition.
We will provide listings on the Lake Grace Regional Artspace website, facebook page and
editorial in the local newspaper, The Lakes Link and The Wagin Argus.
We will provide you with support and technical assistance where possible.
Artists are free to organize and fund their own additional advertising/promotion campaign for the
exhibition and it is to your benefit that you do this.
Invitations
The Artist is required to organize and pay for invitations and mailing costs of invitations. We will
forward invitations to our email database of supporters and members lists. We will do a letterbox
drop to the local community.
Opening Reception
A reception or opening night event is at the Artist’s own cost. A PA system is available. A full
kitchen is available for your use. There are local caterers available for hire and wineries that have
the local wines available should you wish to use them at your function. Please ask for details.
Documentation
The artist will retain copyright in their works however the gallery reserves the right to reproduce
images for publicity purposes including electronic media. We will document the artists’ exhibition
for the Lake Grace Regional Artspace records and promotion only. You are free to organize a
professional photographer to document your work.
Declaration
