College Scholarships for Southern Tennis Players Southern Tennis Patrons Foundation FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW EASY ONLINE APPLICATION REVISED CRITERIA TO APPLY Deadline to Apply Online is March 1, 2016 Southern Tennis Patrons Foundation, the charitable arm of USTA Southern, has announced a new, easier process for applying for four $1,000 scholarships for incoming college freshmen. All Southern residents who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply online. Minimum Criteria for Selection Current member of the USTA Current resident of a Southern state with residence in a Southern state for a minimum one school year Active tennis player who has – o Been ranked top 500 in Southern in past two years o Played on a high school team for two years, or o Played in a Jr. Team Tennis or NJTL team or program for two years Does not otherwise have a full scholarship Scholarship Info The scholarship is $1,000, which is renewable for 4 years, if the student maintains a 3.0 or better GPA, remains a full-time student, and does not otherwise receive a full college scholarship.
