JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Promotions & Marketing Coordinator REPORTS TO: Executive Director DATE: December 2015 SUMMARY OF THE POSITION’S PURPOSE The Promotions and Marketing Coordinator will promote and market the programs and events of USTA Kentucky and its members. They will work with media throughout the state to increase the presence and awareness of tennis and USTA Kentucky activities. This individual will also be responsible for communicating effectively with the membership and general public through print and electronic media in addition to securing outside sources of revenue for the organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION – High School Diploma, some college preferred. EXPERIENCE -- Media or marketing experience in a service related or non-profit field. Sports industry experience preferred. SKILLS -- A creative, self-motivated individual with a strong ability to multi-task is required. Strong written and oral communication a must. Ability to work with graphic design. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet applications, design software experience (Adobe InDesign or similar) desired. Strong customer service, organizational and administrative skills. The ability to work with photography and video is a plus. OTHER REQUIREMENTS -- Open and available to travel and work on selected nights and weekends. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Establish and maintain relationships with media throughout the state Help develop marketing strategies Help secure sponsorships/advertisement revenue. Assist staff, Community Tennis Associations and other organizations with their promotional needs. Coordinate production of all publications and promotional materials including the annual calendar publication, brochures, programs and other forms of print and electronic communication. Website maintenance. Ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date. Create and disseminate information to media and membership in the form of press releases, monthly E-Newsletter, website, social media, etc. Implement and execute programs and projects as directed by USTA Southern Section. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Act as liaison to USTA Kentucky Marketing and Diversity Committees Serve as liaison with USTA Southern Section on marketing matters Attend all USTA Kentucky Board Meetings and other events as directed Assist staff with the planning and execution of special events Have good attendance. Demonstrate a consistently positive, enthusiastic and constructive attitude. Provide courteous, respectful and prompt service to all colleagues and customers. Prioritize and address requests and assignments professionally and in a way that helps develop cooperative relationships throughout the tennis community. Abide by USTA Kentucky’s Code of Conduct, policies and office procedures. Identify opportunities and recommend ways to promote tennis, improve service and use resources efficiently. Support co-workers and help foster teamwork throughout the organization. Carry out other duties as directed by management
